Jälkeemme vedenpaisumus edustaa Suomea saksalaisella elokuvafestivaalilla / After Us, the Flood represents Finland at a German Film Festival

Jälkeemme vedenpaisumus esitetään 21.5. Saksassa osana The Scandinavian Film Days -tapahtumaa. Festivaali järjestetään Bonnissa, ja se on yli 20 vuoden ajan esitellyt valikoituja elokuvia Tanskasta, Ruotsista, Norjasta, Suomesta, Islannista ja Grönlannista. Jälkeemme vedenpaisumus edustaa suomea vuoden 2025 ohjelmistossa.

Elokuvamme rinnalla festivaalilla nähdään Magnus von Hornin The Girl with the Needle, Halfdan Ullmann Tøndelin ohjaama Armand, Pamela Hoganin dokumentti The Day Iceland Stood Still, Jakob Ekvallin Virgo, sekä Emma Buchtin ohjaama Nova & Alice.

The Girl with the Needle sai ensi-iltansa Cannesin Palme d'Or kilpasarjassa ja on ollut ehdolla sekä parhaan vieraskielisen Golden Globen että parhaan kansainvälisen elokuvan Oscarin saajaksi. Armand puolestaan oli Norjan virallinen Oscar-ehdokas vuodelle 2025.

Pohjoismaista elokuvaa juhlitaan siis Saksassa hienossa seurassa!

After Us, the Flood will be screened on May 21st in Germany as part of The Scandinavian Film Days. The festival is held in Bonn and has, for over 20 years, showcased a curated selection of films from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Greenland. In the 2025 edition, After Us, the Flood proudly represents Finland.

Alongside our film, the festival will feature Magnus von Horn’s The Girl with the Needle, Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel’s Armand, Pamela Hogan’s documentary The Day Iceland Stood Still, Jakob Ekvall’s Virgo, and Nova & Alice by Emma Bucht.

The Girl with the Needle premiered in competition for the Palme d’Or at Cannes and has been nominated for both the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film and the Oscar for Best International Feature Film. Armand was Norway’s official submission for the 2025 Academy Awards.
